Summer project

Breakfast at Tiffany's

Breakfast at Tiffany's is a classic romantic comedy film, starring principally Adrey Hepburn. With her uncomparable style,Holly shows to the whole world the power of each woman lost in their own fears. This is already proof that this film is mirroring the society of that time and of course some of those aspects concern society nowadays.
Holly Golightly is a glamorous, comical and stylish woman. I think it becomes difficult to resist her charm, once you've watched the film. She may be considered an emblem of glamour and beauty. This can be noticed when observing some of the particular elements that defines the elegance of the film. For example the little black dress which was established as a main fashion must-have, along with the Oliver Goldsmith's sunglasses, a variety of sparkling earings and a huge black hat.
The costume supervisor on the film was Edith Head. She also outfitted Audrey in many of her movies. The majority of Holly's wordrobe was designed by the legendary Huberd de Givenchy. His gorgeus creation included the pink cocktail dress, the orange coat and those several black dresses. Although the little black dress was invented by Cocò Chanel.
Due to her accessory changes, each piece of clothing she wears looks different when she wears it again. While near all the costumes in the film were made by Hubert de Givenchy, the raincoat was made by Burberry.
Whilst watching "Breakfast at Tiffany's", I have noticed that make-up applications used from previous generations has created an impact into the way we apply make-up in todays modern society. Adrey Hepburn's personal make-up artist was Wally Westmore. Westmore created Holly's sophisticated look using some essential ingredients: timeless eyeliner flicks, natural lipstick, blush and the most important thing was her light hand in order to create a natural look.
From my point of view, this film is iconic in terms of  fashion, thanks to Adrey's natural and glamorous look, her epic wordrobe... thanks to that enormous attention to every small detail. This film also shows us the real spirit of a woman and teaches us what is the emblem of feminity, which I think is a very important characteristic in the modern era.

My First Moodboard

By creating this moodboard I wanted to show the job I'd like to have in my future. I'm dreaming of working as a make-up artist in the fashion industry. I am dreaming of creating new looks which can be appreciated or even criticized by people from all over the world, this will hopefully help me improve. I really hope that my future reserves me a job with various famous designers such as Prada, Dolce & Gabbana, Fendi, Chanel, etc. I know that for making it become truth I have a really long way to tread...a whole life to study , and a huge engagement to impliment.
My inspiration for this mood board were the fashion magazines such as Glamour, Elle, Marie Claire and GQ. It is noticable that the whole creation is made from pictures from magazines. In general, I usualy find my inspiration by watching tutorials on Youtube, surfing different websites like beauty forums or  by watching different fashion channels on TV. I adore spending hours in make-up stores, testing all the products that are there.
I definitely enjoyed doing my moodboard, but when it was ready I realised that it is too full of pictures and you cannot notice every detail on it. If I had the possibility to make it again, I'd add less pictures and I would also add some famous phrases which shows the main topic BEAUTY!
