Carina Buckley Analytical Review - The Danger Dress

   Fashiontoast

We were told to write a blog post on our own blogs about a fashion blog post where the information on that post is very poor. So being inspired by the previous topics on Elizabethan symbolism I created a post which is based on it(on symbols). I created a story that refers to some pictures taken from that blog and I tried to make every detail iconic. Here is my post:
Where have all the surfing cowboys gone?
In Venice, near the seaside where I actually live, there is a nice place where I used to pass the freetime with my friends during the endless summer days. It was a place near a sport centre where the youth interested in surfing trained. We enjoyed spendin our time there, meeting new people, looking at beautifull male bodies and gossip... You know- Women stuff!!!
This sport club was called "Surfing cowboys": "Surfing"- stands for the sport they were doing, while "cowboys"- stands for power, strengh and confidence. As cowboys face any danger with self. confidence, so surfers learn to overcome and deal with the power of water and its huge waves. This is why the walls of the building are blue, symbolising water and the words on it are yellow as the color of the sand, iconic for desert lands where usually of course cowboys live.
All these things I told you were refered to the past because this sport club was closed some years ago. Now everytime I'm coming here, it feels like everything is gone and the only thing we have left- are just unforgetable memories and a question: Where have all the surfing cowboys gone?
As it is a fashion blog, I'll tell you about my outfit and why it's so symbolic in this case. I'm wearing a white minidress and a pair of generic slip-ons from Harakuja for a reason: I'm wearing a dress because personally for me it is a symbol of feminity and it is white because I associated it with the winter, in other words I associated it with snow and cold. Everytime I'm comming here now, the place looks so empty as leaveless trees in winter, It feels so cold since no one is comming here anymore.
I put on a pair of slip-ons for the simple reason that they are comfortable and stylish at the same time; And I think they matched perfectly with my dress.
